Localiza owns and operates a car rental network in Brazil. On December 31, 2008, the company’s network consisted of 422 car rental branches in nine countries, 199 of which are owned directly and 147 of which are franchised in Brazil, in 246 cities around the country. Seventy-six branches are franchised abroad in 48 cities in eight other countries in Latin America. The Company also operates in the fleet rental business and in the management and franchising of these businesses.
