Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is an integrated regional solid waste services company that provides collection, transfer, disposal, recycling and resource management services to residential, industrial and commercial customers, primarily throughout the eastern United States. The company was founded in Rutland, Vermont in 1975. In addition to waste services, the company operates the following sectors: recycling, landfills, fiber insulation, clean energy and organics.

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is a vertically integrated regional solid waste services company that provides collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services to residential, industrial and commercial customers, primarily in the eastern United States. As of May 31, 2006, the Company owned and/or operated nine Subtitle D landfills, two landfills permitted to accept construction and demolition materials, 39 solid waste collection operations, 33 transfer stations, 39 recycling facilities, one waste-to-energy facility and a 50% interest in a joint venture that manufactures, markets and sells cellulose insulation made from recycled fiber. The Company manages its solid waste operations on a geographic basis through four regions: the North Eastern, South Eastern, Central and Western regions, and FCR, which comprises its larger-scale non-solid waste recycling and brokerage operations. On September 19, 2005, the Company acquired Blue Mountain Recycling, LLC. (Date: August 13, 2008)
