The Volkswagen Group, headquartered in Wolfsburg, is an automobile manufacturer and distributor. The Group is made up of 9 brands: Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Scania. Each brand operates as an independent entity on the market. The product range extends from low-consumption small cars to luxury class vehicles. In the commercial vehicle sector, the product offering spans pick ups, buses, and heavy trucks. The Group operates 61 production plants in 15 European countries and six other countries in the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
In September 2015, it was disclosed that Volkswagen underreported car emissions for 11 million vehicles worldwide. We are reviewing the ESG ratings of Volkswagen from our data sources and expect them to soon start making major ratings adjustments.

We considered many names for our site—in fact we spent our first year and a half under a different name—EkoHub. We liked “Eko” — coming from the Greek word Oikos, related to economy, ecology, and “home” or social concerns. From the beginning, we believed the word “Hub” reflected our desire to be at the center of the sustainability area, providing knowledge, harmony, and consensus among the hundreds of experts judging the ESG performance of companies.
