Puget Energy, a subsidiary of Puget Holdings LLC, is a Bellevue, Washington-based company whose core business is Puget Sound Energy, a regulated utility, providing electric and natural gas service to Western Washington. Puget Energy's focus is to concentrate on its core business: retail utility service within a regulated environment. PSE serves more than 1 million electric customers and nearly 750,000 natural gas customers. As a result of the merger with Puget Holdings, Puget Energy is no longer a publicly traded company. All Puget Energy common shares were liquidated on Feb. 6, 2009.
In February of 2009, Puget Holdings completed its acquisition of Puget Energy and Puget Sound Energy. The latter two were consequently delisted and no longer trade publicly.

We considered many names for our site—in fact we spent our first year and a half under a different name—EkoHub. We liked “Eko” — coming from the Greek word Oikos, related to economy, ecology, and “home” or social concerns. From the beginning, we believed the word “Hub” reflected our desire to be at the center of the sustainability area, providing knowledge, harmony, and consensus among the hundreds of experts judging the ESG performance of companies.
