Eagle Systems was acquired by Teradyne, Inc in November of 2008. Teradyne is a supplier of Automatic Test Equipment used to test electronics in the consumer electronics, automotive, computing, telecommunications, aerospace and defense industry. Teradyne reported sales of $1.1 billion in 2007 and a workforce of 3,600 worldwide. Eagle’s products test catalog linear, power management, and automotive devices, such as thermostats, fire control systems, computers and cell phones.
In late 2008 rival Teradyne bought the company for about $250 million, net of cash.

We considered many names for our site—in fact we spent our first year and a half under a different name—EkoHub. We liked “Eko” — coming from the Greek word Oikos, related to economy, ecology, and “home” or social concerns. From the beginning, we believed the word “Hub” reflected our desire to be at the center of the sustainability area, providing knowledge, harmony, and consensus among the hundreds of experts judging the ESG performance of companies.
