Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) is an independent research school with an enrollment of about 12,070 students from all US states and around 90 countries, more than half of whom are graduate and professional students. CWRU offers approximately 230 undergraduate, graduate and professional options, and almost 140 dual-degree programs from its eight colleges and schools – management, engineering, law, arts and sciences, dentistry, social work, nursing, and medicine — as well as a graduate school at its campus in Cleveland.

We considered many names for our site—in fact we spent our first year and a half under a different name—EkoHub. We liked “Eko” — coming from the Greek word Oikos, related to economy, ecology, and “home” or social concerns. From the beginning, we believed the word “Hub” reflected our desire to be at the center of the sustainability area, providing knowledge, harmony, and consensus among the hundreds of experts judging the ESG performance of companies.
