The company’s products are serum-free and protein-free solutions, which are formulated to reduce preservation-induced, delayed-onset cell damage, and death. It offers HypoThermosol FRS, a hypothermic storage and shipping media product to reduce post-preservation necrosis and apoptosis; CryoStor cryopreservation freeze media products, which are designed to mitigate temperature-induced molecular cell stress responses during freezing and thawing; and BloodStor products comprising BloodStor 55-5 and BloodStor 100 for cryopreservation of cells isolated from umbilical cord blood, peripheral blood, and bone marrow. The company also provides cell thawing media, which offers Dextran and saline for washing cryopreserved cells and tissues to dilute or remove cryoprotectants; and PrepaStor, a flush solution designed for use during the transitions from normothermic to mild hypothermic conditions to rinse culture media and native fluids from tissue and whole organ systems prior to suspension in a preservation solution. In addition, it offers custom product formulation and custom packaging services; precision thermal packaging products and cloud-hosted Web applications; and contract aseptic manufacturing formulation, fill, and finish services of liquid media products. The company markets its products to the bio banking, drug discovery, and regenerative medicine markets, including hospital-based stem cell transplant centers, pharmaceutical companies, cord blood and adult stem cell banks, hair transplant centers, and suppliers of cells to the drug discovery, toxicology testing, and diagnostic markets. BioLife Solutions, Inc. was founded in 1987 and is based in Bothell, Washington.

What’s in a name? CSRHub, CSR HUB, ESGHub

We considered many names for our site—in fact we spent our first year and a half under a different name—EkoHub. We liked “Eko” — coming from the Greek word Oikos, related to economy, ecology, and “home” or social concerns. From the beginning, we believed the word “Hub” reflected our desire to be at the center of the sustainability area, providing knowledge, harmony, and consensus among the hundreds of experts judging the ESG performance of companies.
