Airvana provides network infrastructure products used by wireless operators to deliver mobile broadband services. These products, which are based on Internet Protocol technology, enable wireless networks to deliver revenue-generating broadband-quality multimedia services to users of mobile phones, laptops, and other mobile devices. In May 2007, Airvana acquired 3Way Networks, the pioneer of femtocells for UMTS markets. Airvana’s world headquarters are in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA. The company also has offices in China, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Spain, and the UK and employs approximately 550 people worldwide.

We considered many names for our site—in fact we spent our first year and a half under a different name—EkoHub. We liked “Eko” — coming from the Greek word Oikos, related to economy, ecology, and “home” or social concerns. From the beginning, we believed the word “Hub” reflected our desire to be at the center of the sustainability area, providing knowledge, harmony, and consensus among the hundreds of experts judging the ESG performance of companies.
