Buenaventura is a Peruvian precious metals company and a major holder of mining rights in Peru. The Company is engaged in the mining, processing, development and exploration of gold, silver and other metals via wholly-owned mines, as well as through its participation in joint exploration projects. Buenaventura currently operates seven mines in Peru (Orcopampa, Uchucchacua, Antapite, Julcani, Recuperada, Shila-Paula and Ishihuinca), has controlling interests in one mining company (El Brocal) and minority interests in other mining companies in Peru. The Company has been listed on the Lima Stock Exchange since 1971, and on The New York Stock Exchange since 1996.
