World Business Council for Sustainable Development

Membership of the WBCSD allows companies to: demonstrate leadership in sustainable development, enhancing their reputation with customers, governments and other stakeholders; test new markets and business models – through a cross-sectoral “laboratory”; understand the long term issues affecting the competitive landscape; build better and more innovative alliances and partnerships with key customers, collaborators, suppliers and stakeholders; influence the global sustainability agenda rather than be shaped by it; develop and tap cutting-edge ideas on sustainability and its implications for business competitiveness; develop the tools and capacity to better implement sustainable development; “cover the base”on a broad range of issues while freeing up company resource to focus on core strategic issues.
