Hochschild is an underground precious metals miner focusing on silver and gold deposits in the Americas. Hochschild currently operates four underground mines, three located in southern Peru and one in southern Argentina as well as one open pit mine in northern Mexico. The underground operations are epithermal vein mines and the principal mining method is cut and fill. The Company has a presence in Canada through an investment in Lake Shore Gold Corp and in southern Mexico via its stake in Gold Resource Corporation.

We considered many names for our site—in fact we spent our first year and a half under a different name—EkoHub. We liked “Eko” — coming from the Greek word Oikos, related to economy, ecology, and “home” or social concerns.
