Each year Sands Cares and Clean the World host a global, all-volunteer event to help build disaster relief kits for community members in need. In 2019, we brought the American Red Cross on board and turned the event into a kit build and blood drive.

When the Sands Cares Fresh Start Mobile Showers Powered by Clean the World began operations, we wanted to provide immediate relief and resources to those in need as part of our commitment to combatting homelessness. The Fresh Start Mobile Showers travel across the Las Vegas Valley, working together with several homeless services providers, offering showers five days a week. On its one year anniversary in July, the mobile hygiene unit had provided more than 7,500 showers to the homeless community.

More than 500 volunteers in Las Vegas joined Las Vegas Sands and social enterprises Clean the World and the American Red Cross to build 35,000 hygiene and comfort kits to support populations in need. The large community volunteer effort was in part with the company’s global annual kit build and its active approach on community preparedness.
