BearingPoint provides management and technology consulting services in various parts of the world. In March 2009, BearingPoint announced a plan to sell substantially all of its businesses to a number of parties. Deloitte acquired the majority of BearingPoint’s North American Public Services business. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) purchased a significant portion of the company’s Commercial Services business in North America, and PwC Japan acquired the company’s Japan practice. With the ongoing wind-down of the company’s operations in North America, as of July 2009 several entities continue to provide consulting services under the BearingPoint brand in Europe and parts of Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.
On February 18, 2009, BearingPoint filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Its assets have since been sold.
