On June 1, 2009, the company entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, which were completed on July 10, 2009. GM has since been reorganized and is majority owned by the United States Treasury as of mid 2010. GM brands include Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Holden, Hummer, Opel, Pontiac, Saturn and Vauxhall.

On July 10, 2009, a new entity, NGMCO Inc. purchased the ongoing operations and trademarks from General Motors. Corporation
