The Burma Campaign UK is an award-winning organization working for the promotion of human rights, democracy and development in Burma. Founded in 1991, we play a leading role in raising awareness about the situation in Burma, where an army coup overthrew Burma’s last democratically-elected government in 1962, resulting in military-run or dominated regimes that have been among the world’s worst violators of human rights. Our campaigns have persuaded hundreds of companies to either withdraw from Burma or to adopt policies not to source certain goods from the country.
