The Boeing Company is involved in the design, development, manufacturing, sale and support of commercial jetliners, military aircraft, satellites, missile defense, human space flight, and launch systems and services. The Company operates in five principal segments: Commercial Airplanes, Precision Engagement and Mobility Systems (PE&MS), Network and Space Systems (N&SS), Support Systems and Boeing Capital Corporation (BCC). PE&MS, N&SS and Support Systems comprise the Company’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business. Boeing has also established an Other segment classification, which includes the activities of Connexion by Boeing, a high-speed broadband communications business, and Engineering, Operations and Technology. During the year ended December 31, 2006, the Company exited its Connexion by Boeing business. On September 20, 2006, Boeing acquired Aviall, Inc. (Aviall), an independent provider of new aviation parts and services.
